1929 – 2022

Opal Mae Reffett 92 of Wurtland KY went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2022, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.

She was born in Scioto County Ohio on December 26, 1929, a daughter of the late Mitchell & Gladys Huffman Adkins.

She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Old Regular Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, Roosevelt Reffett; a daughter, Alice Scott; a grandson, Byron Scott and a brother, John Roscoe Adkins.

She is survived by four daughters, Ella Kriete of Greenup, Nellie Felty and her husband Leonard of Plymouth OH, Betty Brown and her husband Marvin of Wurtland and Frances McDavid and her husband Murry of Grayson; a son in law, Larry Scott of Oldtown; a brother, Rufus Adkins and his wife Rosie of Oldtown; a sister, Gracie Bush and her husband Clyde of Raceland; seven grandchildren, Dale (Anna) Brown, Richard (Pam) Barker, Kevin Morrison, Sherry (Marvin) Blankenship, Missy Scott, Vernon Felty and Greg (Sarah) Scott; eight grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren; two special people, Judy Jordan and Amy Moore; Delmar Reffett who was like a son, along with a host of nieces, nephews extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Wright’s Funeral Home by Elder John Paul Clark.

Burial will follow in the Reffett Cemetery in Oldtown KY.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM till the time of the funeral service on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice 1480 Carter Ave. Ashland KY 41101.
