1935 – 2021

Paul Curtis Burchwell 85 of Flatwoods KY went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.

He was born in Danleyton KY on September 7, 1935, a son of the late Albert & Dova Rowe Burchwell.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army; a retired truck driver driving for Jad’s Trucking, Paul Coffey Construction Co. and E.B. Lowman Construction; a member of the Flatwoods First Baptist Church and a member of Teamsters Local 505.  

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lavonne "Bonnie" Nelson Burchwell who he married on November 14, 1959; four daughters, Teresa Daniels and her husband Curtis of Greenup, Paula Blum and her husband Richie of Russell, Susan Niemi and her husband Nate of Florence KY and Melissa Scott and her husband Henry of Louisville TN; four grandchildren, Bryson Bennett, Oliva Cooper (Seth), Lucas Niemi and Carson Blum; two sisters, Sylvia DeHart of Louisville OH and Nancy Bryan of Raceland along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by four brothers, Charles Burchwell, Jim Burchwell, Irven Burchwell and Raymond Burchwell and four sisters, Emma Jean Burchwell, Louise Grizzle, Pauline Jordan Stapleton and Bessie Fields.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Rev. Robert Jordan and Rev. Ken Gowin.

Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE.

Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Tuesday, August 24, 2021, and one hour before the funeral at the funeral home.
