1936 – 2024

Phyllis M. Johnson 88, of Wurtland KY, a resident of Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wurtland KY formerly of Greentree Mobile Home Park in Ashland KY and formerly of Orange Park Florida died on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington WV.

She was born on January 12, 1936, in Ashland KY a daughter of the late John Moore.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Oscar Johnson a veteran and an Aviation Ordnance Airman of the United States Navy during the Korean War, who died on January 31, 2010, in Jacksonville FL.

After her husband passed away in 2010 in Florida she moved to Ashland KY and had her husband’s ashes privately buried on December 23, 2013, at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery in Greenup County.

We have now identified family in the local area. Detailed arrangements are being worked out at this time.   

Mrs. Johnson’s remains will still be interred, to rest along with her husbands at a later date in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Greenup County KY.
