Rita Sue Smith

Rita Sue Smith 59 of Ashland KY went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.

She was born in Russell KY on March 14, 1960 a daughter of the late Luther Elwood & Polly Marie Stevens Nichols.

She was a former housekeeper for King’s Daughters Medical Center and attended the Wildwood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by a brother, Lester Elwood Nichols and a sister, Debra Kincaid.

She is survived by a son, Matthew Derek Smith and his wife Kayla of Flatwoods; a daughter, Kayla Prater and her husband Kenny of Ashland; a grandchild, Emerie Grace Smith; four brothers, Luther Eugene Nichols, Carl David Nichols, Raymond Cecil Nichols and Richard Lee Nichols; two sisters, Sandy Rice and Ann Fenney; three special friends, Liz Winters, Linda Leffler and Linda Smith along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Words of comfort will be at 8:00 PM Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Wright’s Funeral home in Greenup KY by Brother Chuck Leffler.

Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 6:00 till 8:00 PM
