Bobby Carpenter
1960 – 2021
Robert Willis “Bobby” Carpenter 60 of Greenup KY went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 13, 2021 with his devoted wife by his side.
He accepted the Lord on September 11, 1988 and was a faithful servant. He attended the Raccoon Freewill Baptist Church where he started the youth group in 1997. He taught Sunday School, was the song leader and loved having the kids sing with him in church.
Bobby had a gift of song writing and his personality lit up every room he was ever in.
Bobby by trade was a Concrete Finisher; he along with his late brother Richard and his late father John have poured thousands of yards of concrete during his career.
In addition to serving the Lord, working his profession and raising a family Bobby tirelessly supported and was an active member of many organizations. He was a member of the Little Sandy Fire Department, a member of G.O.T.E.M., Greenup County Lawn Mower Racing and you could always find Bobby in his food booth at the Greenup County Fair raising money for his Raccoon FWB youth group.
He was born in Ashland Kentucky on October 11, 1960 a son of John & Alpha Adkins Carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Carpenter and his brother, Richard Carpenter.
He is survived along with mother Alpha by his wife of 38 years, Linda Lou Turley Carpenter; two daughters, Bobbie Lynn Clark and her husband Josh of Garrison and Kristen Ball and her husband Nathan of Wurtland; three grandchildren he called “Papaw’s Kids”, Malachi, Abi and Ezekiel; three sisters, Pat Bowling, Weni Carpenter and Bev (Lance) Daughterty; a sister-in-law, Robin Carpenter along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, May 17, 2021 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brothers Danny Brown and Steve Stapleton.
Visitation will be after 5:00 PM, Sunday, May 16, 2021 and one hour before the service Monday at the funeral home.
