1941 – 2024

Walter Ronald “Ron” Tracy 83, of Greenup KY went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.

He was born in McAndrews KY on July 25, 1941, a son of the late Walter Everet & Dorothy Davis Tracy.

He was a retired Job Setter for General Motors, a veteran of the United States Navy, a faithful member of the Greenup First Baptist Church and worked at River Bend Golf Course as a Greenskeeper and Ranger.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by a son in law, Terry Wayne Tyler.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie Jean Allen Tracy; two daughters, Tammi Rena Darnell and her husband Roy of New Boston MI and Melissa Gayle Tyler of Flatwoods KY; a sister, Jean Fields of Grand Rapids MI; four grandchildren, Kailey Rena Shaw and her husband David, Jenna Beth Tyler, Courtney Elizabeth Mainprize and her husband Stephen and Tyler Ray Darnell; four great grandchildren, Sawyer Mainprize, Remington Mainprize, Loxley Mainprize and Koah Mainprize along with extended family, his church family and many close friends that Ron loved dearly.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Greenup First Baptist Church by Dr. Thomas Melvin.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon till the time of the funeral on Saturday at the church.

Burial with Military Honors will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery N.E..

It is requested that you arrive at the cemetery no later than 11:45 AM on Monday to assemble with the family for military honors.
