Rufus Wade Adkins 85, of Ashland KY went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at UK/Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland KY.

He was born in Greenup County Kentucky on June 23, 1940, a son of the late Joseph Newton & Edna Virginia Osborn Adkins.

Wade formally worked at Greenbo Lake State Park in Maintenance and attended the Load Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by a brother, Glen Russell Adkins and a sister, Darlene McGlone.

He is survived by three brothers, Joseph Dale Adkins of Chillicothe OH, Steve Adkins of Grayson and Morgan Adkins of Greenup; three sisters, Louise Lewis of Lewis County, Janet Ward of Ashland and Esther Denney of Ashland along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Mike Hambrick.

Burial will follow in the Corns-Adkins Cemetery in Greenup County Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till the time of the funeral on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Corns – Adkins Cemetery Fund 372 Duck Puddle Rd. Greenup KY 41144.
