Ruth Ann Church Porter

1949 – 2025

The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. God in his infinite wisdom has seen fit to remove from our presence Ruth Ann Church Porter 75, of Worthington, KY who went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 31, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

Ruth Ann was born August 3, 1949, in Ashland, KY the daughter of the late Coral Naman and Ella Marie Short Church.

Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raceland KY and she retired from Pathways Inc after 40 years of service as an administrative assistant.

She was proceeded in death along with her parents by her husband of 46 years, Glenn William Porter SR in 2014; a granddaughter, Baylor Ann Porter; five sisters, Delilia Tipton, Jean Collins, Freda Nichols, Blanche Osborn and Sharon Sue Sears along with three brothers, Bob Church, Carman Church and Jimmy Church.

She is survived by two daughters Kathy Porter-Elliott and Terri Terry and her husband Bobby; a son, Billy Porter and his wife Catherine; eleven grandchildren, Dru Elliott, Dylan King, Brooke Goodwin (Ryan), Bryce Wellman (Micah), Bailee Terry, Bree Terry, Gavin Wilson, Ace Porter, Axe Porter and Ruthie Porter; one great-grandchild, Reese Goodwin along with a host of nieces, nephews, extend family and friends.

Funeral Services for Ruth Ann will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 3, 2025, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup, KY by Brother Glenn Stephenson.

Burial will follow in the McGuire Cemetery in Greenup KY.  

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup, KY. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
