Samuel Reid Hieneman, 33, passed away on June 25, 2026.

Sam was born on February 8, 1993, in Portsmouth, Ohio to Dan Hieneman and Jujuana Watson Hieneman.

He was preceded in death by three grandparents, Billy and Janice (Maggard) Watson and Phyllis (Maynard) Hieneman.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a grandfather, Claude Hieneman; his big brother, Chase Hieneman; two stepparents, Jeff Carr and Amanda Hieneman; two aunts, Jana (Chuck) Adkins and Kim (Marty) Griffith; one uncle Jerrod (Sherry) Watson; cousins Sarah Scott, Daniel Griffith, Marti Jo Houlihan, Chloe Adkins, Judd Adkins, Luke Watson, and Sophie Watson; many extended family and friends; and his beloved dog, Brady.

A graduate of Raceland-Worthington High School and the University of Kentucky, Sam loved animals and was an avid sports fan. He loved playing on the Rams Football team in high school, and he was a true-blue Kentucky Wildcat!

He also had a funny streak and could sometimes drop a witty one liner that would make everyone chuckle.

There are no words to express how deeply Sam’s family loved him, and they will most remember his big, kind heart as they carry his memory into the future. Above all, his family takes comfort in knowing that Sam, as a Christian, now walks with his Savior.

Private services for the family will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Jason Lykins.

Burial will follow in the Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity in Sam’s memory.
