1945 – 2023

Samuel Allen Withrow 78 of Flatwoods KY went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.

He was born in Coalton KY on January 15, 1945 a son of the late Desper Gay & Bessie Ann Rigsby Withrow.

He was a retired Stove Tender for AK Steel, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Raceland American Legion Post 43.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by four siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Jean Stambaugh Withrow; two sons, Christopher Allen Withrow and his wife Pamela of Hermitage TN and Aaron Withrow and his wife Cathy of Flatwoods KY; two grandchildren, Laura Frisby and her husband Paul of Flatwoods and Joshua Brandon Withrow and his wife Sarah of Louisville; a great grandchild, Astrid Applewhite; caregivers, Virginia Withrow and her fiancé Scott Harris along with a host of extended family and friends.  

Private services will be held at a later date at the family cemetery.  

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup, KY. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
