1960 ~ 2025
Scott Dewayne Palmer 65, of Flatwoods KY went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at his residence.
He was born in Ashland KY on June 23, 1960, a son of the late James Marshall & Ruth Elizabeth Palmer.
Scott retired from Pepsi Co. as a merchandiser, he was a former member and Captain of the Little Sandy Fire Department, a member of the Greenup V.F.W., a former longtime employee of Applegate’s Grocery Store and he played the part of Dynamite Dan during the Old Fashion Days shootouts with the notorious Town Hill Gang.
He was preceded in death along with his parents by a brother, James Robert Palmer, a sister, Debra Baca and his very special lifelong friend, Bobby Carpenter.
He is survived by two daughters, Stacy Renee Palmer of Coal Grove, OH and Cortney Leigh Boggs and her wife LeShadow of Russell KY; three grandchildren, Tayah Lyons, Isaac Wilson and Dayton Hensley; two sisters, Brenda Settles of Catlettsburg and Marsha Palmer of Troy Ohio; a sister in law, Dee Palmer of Greenup along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
There are no services scheduled at this time.
Burial will be held later, with his parents, in the Quillen Cemetery in Lynn KY.
Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup, KY. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
