Sister Ruth Boggs
1935 – 2020
Anna Ruth Boggs 84 of Flatwoods went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at her residence.
She was born in Flatwoods KY on October 18, 1935 a daughter of the late Elder Ira Cleveland & Maggie Spence Adkins.
She was a 56 year member of the Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church in Flatwoods.
She was preceded in death along with her parents by five siblings, Alice Curnutte, Ethel Walker, Juanita Vanhorn, Finess Adkins and Ira Adkins Jr and a son in law, David Tolliver.
She was survived by her husband of 61 years, William Clem “Punk” Boggs; three sons, Ira Edgar Boggs and his wife Renata of Raceland, William Arthur Boggs and his wife Mary of Charlotte NC and James Steven Boggs and his wife Ruthie of Ironton OH; two daughters, Anna Ruby Tolliver of Raceland and Sarah Lynn Starrett and her husband Doug of Flatwoods; a brother, Charles Adkins and his wife Kay of Greenup; three sisters, Rosa Bledsoe and her husband Dallas of Louisa, Jeanette Menshouse of Louisa and Maxine Sebastian and her husband Jim of Ashland; five grandchildren, Aaren Boggs, Kaylya Nemeth (ED), Jessica Boggs, Katie Boggs and Dakota Starrett; three great grandchildren, Davieann Monn, Logan Thomas and Evalyn Upton; a special adopted daughter, Bernice Breedlove along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, church family and friends.
Due to restrictions placed on funerals by the government in regards to the COVID-19 virus, private service only are scheduled for the family.
Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery in Flatwoods KY.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Sister Ruth’s memory to the Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church % Brother Paul Moore 91 Singer Lane Wurtland KY 41144.
