1949 – 2024
Steven Edward Warnock 74, of Flatwoods KY went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at his home.
He was born on October 18, 1949, the beloved son of the late Ed & Bessie Johnson Warnock of Load KY.
Steven is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jennifer Nelson Warnock; three children, Dwight Warnock and his wife Dana of Knoxville TN, Leeann Sampson and her husband Jim of Franklin Furnace OH and Kimberly Slusher and her husband Ryan of Louisville; a step son, David Nelson and his wife Leeanna of Catlettsburg; eleven grandchildren, Josey Nelson, Summer Nelson, Nate Warnock, Grace Warnock, Sam Warnock, Kaden Sampson, Kayla Sampson, Eric Sampson, Evan Slusher, Joel Slusher and Justin Cox; a sister, Janet Rose of Flatwoods; two nephews, Brett Rose and his wife Andrea of Ashland and the late Dustin Rose and his wife Jama of Cynthiana KY and his faithful companion, his dog Nikki.
Steve served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War having served from 1970 and 1971. Before his military service he had worked at Lawson’s Hardware and Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY. After his discharge he was employed at UPS, then Dart Trucking and Hazmat where he drove a semi-truck for 47 years without an accident.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Monday, March 25, 2024 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brothers Andrew Green and Bob Bradley.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE in Greenup County KY.
Visitation will be from 6:00 till 8:00 PM on Sunday and from 10:00 AM till the time of the funeral service on Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 or T2T.org in Steve’s honor.
