1952-2022

Terry Lee Bryant, 70, of Greenup, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.

He was born in Pike County, Kentucky on January 27, 1952, a son of the late Walter “Bud” and Juanita Osborne “Granny” Bryant.

Terry served his country proudly in the United States Army. But most of all he was a servant of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Terry accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior on September 6, 1986, at mile marker 146 on interstate I-64. Terry was baptized on January 11, 1987, on a very cold, snowy and ice-covered creek. Terry was a member of the Old Union Church for nine years. Terry surrendered the call to preach on September 7, 1987. He was ordained on February 7, 1992. He was a member of the Little Jewel Old Regular Baptist Church for thirty-six years. He went on to be Moderator and Assistant Moderator at the Little Jewel Old Regular Baptist Church for twenty-eight years. Terry loved everyone he encountered. He touched so many lives from preaching, coaching little league baseball or just being a listening ear. He retired from CSX as a laborer. His contagious smile and laugh are one that you will never forget. Terry loved spending time with his wife Rita, on the boat slaying fish and making lots of memories.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by his first wife Judy Bryant; son, Joshua Wayne Bryant; brother, Larry Joe Bryant; along with his grandparents, Long Joe and Bertha Osborne and Lee and Hannah Branham Bryant.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Bryant of forty-six years joined by God on April 3, 1976. son, Jeremy (Megan) Bryant; daughter, Jessica (Scott) Fox; sisters, Loretta Jean Cooper, Clara (Rick) Kouns, Jane (Chuck) Wright and Lisa (Richard) Bailey. Terry Loved and cherished his six grandchildren, Madisyn, Peyton and Connor Fox, Ellery and Abigail Bryant and Emily Passons. His grandchildren were his life along with a host of several nieces, nephews, extended family and church family who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Little Jewel Old Regular Baptist Church, 204 KY Street, Ashland, KY 41102 by Brother Marty Carty, Elder Keith Tipton and Brother Junior Ruggles.

Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Tuesday, June 14, 2022, and one hour before the funeral Wednesday June 15, 2022, at the Church.

Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Greenup County, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, pray about what God will have you to do. As Terry would always say, Go to God in prayer he will lead you in the direction you must go. Do whatever you feel the Lord has laid upon your heart. We are thankful for each one of you. We love you all.

It has been requested by the family due to the Covid-19 pandemic that everyone attending to please wear a face covering.
