1956 – 2025

Anthony Mearle “Tony” George 68, of Lloyd KY went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 11, 2025, at his residence following a brief illness.

He was born in Ironton OH on June 6, 1956, a son of the late Orville Mearle & Erma Jean Kouns George.

He was a retired trouble shooter of Kentucky Electric Power and a Veteran of the of the United States Navy. He was an avid outdoors man. Hunting and fishing was his game.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by a daughter, Cortney Danielle Stephens and a sister, Teresa Joan Sammons.

He is survived by two grandchildren, Lillian Stephens and Brantley Stephens; a brother, Orville Lee George and his wife Kathy along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Tony will be buried in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery at a later date.   

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup, KY. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
