Bessie Violet Carter, 98, of Greenup KY, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods KY.

She was born in Greenup KY on April 23, 1927, a daughter of the late Earl Burgess & Lucy Brown Bartram.

Violet was a member of the Flatwoods Church of Christ.

She was proceeded in death along with her parents by her husband, Earl Carter; three sons, James Henry “Tiny” Carter, Gary Michael Carter and Terry Lee Carter as well as three grandchildren.

She has survived by two daughters, Charlotte Justice Brown of Flatwoods KY and Linda Woods of Grayson KY; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Becky Carter of Greenup along with a host of extended family and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd KY by Dr. Thomas Melvin.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till 12:30 PM on Saturday at the funeral home
