Rocky Ailster
1947 – 2025
William Joseph “Rocky” Ailster, 77, of Greenup KY, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 10, 2025, at UK/Kings Daughter’s Medical Center.
He was born in Ashland KY on November 12, 1947, a son of the late Samuel & Anita Thomasson Ailster.
Rocky was a veteran in the U.S. Army. He was a retired Laborer for Harbison Walker Brickyard formerly known as the North American Refactories. He attended the Saint John A.M.E. Church and was a Kentucky Colonel. He also coached Little League Baseball and Basketball.
He has survived by his wife Claudia Jean Johnson Ailster; two sons, Christopher Tyrone Ailster and his wife Johnna of South Shore KY and Patrick Kent Ailster of Atlanta GA; five grandchildren, Peyton Ailster (Kyra), Seth Ailster, Evan Ailster, Myles Ailster and Aidan Ailster; a sister, Alice Louise Jackson of Greenup KY; four sister in laws, Patricia Johnson, Andra (Timothy) Meadows, Bertie Gardner and Anyetta Johnson; two brother in laws, William Claude Johnson Jr. and Byron Johnson along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Rocky’s longtime friends and care givers, but more especially to Cheryl Conley and David Stultz.
Military Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE in Greenup County KY, by David Stulz and members of the American Legion and the U.S. Army.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM on Thursday, at the Funeral Home.
